Eco-Friendly Building

Green Building, also known as green construction or sustainable building refers to the building and using process that is beneficial, environmentally responsible, and resource-efficient throughout the structures life cycle: from construction, to maintenance, renovation and even demolition. It is efficient in its use of local and renewable materials; in the energy required to build it; and the energy generated while being within it.

Eco-friendly construction has developed in response to the knowledge that buildings and construction has a negative impact on our environment and natural resources. The common objective is to reduce the overall impact of the built environment on human health and the natural environment. This can be done by:

–       Efficiently using energy, water, and other resources

–       Reducing waste, pollution and environmental degradation

The first rule in green building is that “The greenest building is the building that isn’t built.” Of course this cannot apply in our industry, however we make use of the following materials and methods in our attempt to be eco-friendly:

–       LED Lighting
–       Solar Heating / Power
–       Ground Source Heat Pump: Water Heating
–       Double Glaze Windows; Handmade Doors and Windows
–       Natural/Organic Home Insulation
–       Recycled and Organic Building Materials
–       Solvent Free Paints
